Job description

Landscaping Operations Manager
Company:ย  Ironwood Outdoor Services
Location:ย  Rogers, MN (and throughout the Twin Cities)
Pay range:ย  $65,000โ€“$85,000/year
Ironwood Outdoor Services is an extremely professional work environment building a destination workplace for landscape maintenance professionals โ€” one where employees get better tools, real training, and genuine paths to build long-term careers in the outdoor industry. We provide commercial and association-focused lawn maintenance, landscaping and design, snow and ice management, tree and shrub care, mulching, and weed/pest control.
We're looking for an experienced Landscaping Operations Manager to run the day-to-day of our field operations. This person will be the pulse of the business โ€” knowing exactly where every job stands, keeping crews on track, and making sure customers are getting the quality and communication they expect.
What You'll Do
  • Own daily scheduling, dispatching, and job assignment across all service lines (lawn care, landscaping, tree/shrub maintenance, snow removal, de-icing)
  • Track every job in progress โ€” know what's done, what's behind, and what needs to change in real time
  • Oversee crew performance and quality on-site, stepping in with corrective action when needed
  • Build and refine SOPs that keep operations efficient and consistent
  • Manage fleet, equipment, and materials โ€” scheduling maintenance and keeping inventory on hand
  • Recruit, train, and develop Crew Leaders and Technicians; conduct performance reviews and coaching
  • Manage labor hours to maximize productivity and control overtime
  • Serve as the go-to contact for client concerns and operational coordination; conduct site visits to confirm quality
  • Spot and pursue opportunities to upsell additional services to existing customers (eligibility of commission on those additional services sold)
  • Partner with leadership on budgeting, cost control, and KPI tracking
  • Review and approve service reports, timecards, and expenses
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of progressive management experience in landscaping, construction, or outdoor services
  • 3+ years directly managing both landscaping/grounds maintenance and high-volume commercial snow removal
  • Proven track record leading large teams and coordinating complex logistics and equipment fleets
  • Strong grasp of safety standards (OSHA) and local/state regulations
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with scheduling software and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record
Nice to Have
  • CLP, SIMA, or Pesticide Applicator's License certifications
  • Experience with GPS tracking and fleet management systems
Working Conditions
This role splits time between the office and the field. Expect early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays during peak seasons โ€” especially heavy snow events or critical landscaping deadlines โ€” and the ability to work in all weather conditions.
Why Ironwood Outdoor?
We're growing, we're stable, and we're investing in our people. If you want to run operations for a company that takes the outdoor industry seriously โ€” better tools, better training, real careers โ€” we want to hear from you.
