Job Summary:

The Field and Community Marketing Manager is responsible for leading all marketing efforts within their assigned state. This includes overseeing the state's marketing budget, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, and team recommendations. The role ensures field marketing aligns with sales goals and brand objectives while managing the day-to-day operations of the field team.

The Field and Community Marketing Manager oversees all marketing efforts within the state, including leading the field team, budget management, and aligning marketing strategies with sales goals. The role also has a broader scope and focuses on strategic marketing with an emphasis on leading initiatives and optimizing in-store activations, promotions, and product sell-through rates.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Leads the state's marketing team, providing direction, support, and coaching.
  • Manages hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for field team members.
  • Oversees HR-related matters, including team development and mentoring.
  • Oversees the state's marketing budget, approving and tracking field team expenses.
  • Manages company credit card usage for necessary purchases (e.g., travel, hotel stays).
  • Develops and implements marketing strategies in collaboration with the Sales team and Field Marketing Supervisor.
  • Monitors and analyzes field team activities to optimize in-store activations, promotions, and product sell-through rates.
  • Provides weekly reports to the Regional Marketing Manager and Sales Managers, covering various metrics and updates.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date accrual sheets for field team data and statistics.
  • Works closely with Warehouse Managers to ensure timely distribution of marketing materials.
  • Collaborates with Sales Regionals to support promotional efforts and sales objectives.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience in leading field teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate across various departments.
  • Analytical skills for making data-driven decisions and enhancing marketing effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite for reporting and project management.
  • Strong collaboration skills, working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Budget management experience.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in marketing or business administration preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in field marketing, with a proven track record of success in driving brand visibility and engagement.
  • 3+ years of experience in sales forecasting and reporting, with a data-driven approach to strategy.
  • 2+ years of experience managing and leading field teams.
  • Experience in the cannabis industry or other regulated industries is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in marketing technologies and CRM systems.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Capable of repetitive hand and arm motions, including extended periods of typing.
  • Capable of looking at a screen for extended periods or entire shifts.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Ability to set up, support, and tear down marketing events, which may include transporting materials, assembling displays, and standing for extended periods.
  • Some travel may be required to attend cross-functional team meetings or support product launch events.

Work Schedule (Exempt):

This is a full-time, exempt position. The role requires the flexibility to work the hours necessary to meet business needs, which may include extended hours, weekends, and holidays. Work schedules and expectations may be adjusted based on operational priorities and organizational demands.
