Job Description Our client is an energy technology company commercializing an innovative natural gas liquids (NGL) recovery solution that conditions raw field gas for use in reciprocating gas engines supporting compression, gas lift, and oilfield electrification. This technology enables operators to increase revenues while improving equipment reliability, efficiency, and emissions performance. They are seeking a highly skilled Operations Engineer to add to their team in Houston, TX.

Operations Engineer Benefits: Direct hire, full time Competitive compensation package Comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO) Exposure to cutting-edge gas processing and PSA technology High visibility role working cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams Opportunity for career growth as the product scales commercially Operations Engineer Responsibilities: Own day-to-day operational performance of assigned units, ensuring safe operation, high uptime, and adherence to technical specifications Serve as the primary operational authority for assigned systems, including performance monitoring and troubleshooting Identify operational risks or performance issues and drive corrective actions to resolution Lead or support commissioning and startup activities, including planning, coordination, and execution Act as the operational owner during early production phases, capturing lessons learned and improving processes Interface directly with field personnel, contractors, and customers during key operational events Own accuracy and quality of operational reporting (daily/weekly) Translate operational data into actionable insights for internal teams and customers Ensure reporting reflects real-time operating conditions and supports decision-making Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, I&E specialists, vendors, and contractors to resolve operational challenges Bridge the gap between design and field execution by feeding operational learnings back into engineering Promote and uphold a strong safety culture across all operations Ensure compliance with internal HSE standards and regulatory requirements Participate in incident investigations and support root cause analysis and corrective actions Identify and implement improvements related to reliability, uptime, cost, and maintainability Lead small-to-mid scale operational improvement initiatives Contribute to development and refinement of SOPs, procedures, and operational standards Operations Engineer Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in operations engineering, field operations, commissioning, or process equipment support Experience in oil & gas, midstream, compression, gas processing, or similar industrial systems strongly preferred Work Environment & Travel Combination of office, shop, and field-based work Travel to operating sites as needed Comfortable working around active gas processing and compression equipment
