Client: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)

Location: 100% Remote (U.S. Based)

Salary: $130,000 – $150,000 annually (Based on experience and technical interview)

 Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Integration Engineer to help design, build, and support secure, scalable, cloud-native integration solutions supporting enterprise healthcare environments.

This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex integration challenges while working with modern cloud technologies, Kubernetes, AWS integration services, healthcare interoperability standards, and enterprise observability platforms.

Working alongside architects, infrastructure engineers, developers, and security professionals, you'll help modernize enterprise integration capabilities while supporting mission-critical healthcare initiatives.

Source role emphasizes cloud-based integrations using Kubernetes, AWS services, healthcare interoperability (X12, HL7, FHIR), Argo CD, observability tooling, and service mesh technologies.

Your work will directly support the modernization of enterprise healthcare integration platforms by delivering secure, resilient, and highly available cloud-native solutions.

You will help enable interoperability across healthcare systems while improving automation, observability, and operational reliability in highly regulated environments.

Required QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Experience
  • Minimum two years of experience designing or supporting cloud-based integrations utilizing Kubernetes.
  • Minimum two years of experience with AWS integration services.
  • Minimum two years implementing healthcare interoperability solutions using X12, HL7, and FHIR.
  • Experience supporting modern cloud-native architectures within enterprise environments.

Observability & Platform Reliability
  • Implement monitoring, telemetry, logging, tracing, and alerting using Datadog or similar enterprise observability platforms.
  • Improve platform performance, availability, and operational visibility.
  • Troubleshoot production integration issues and perform root cause analysis.
Service Mesh & Cloud Architecture
  • Implement service mesh technologies such as Istio to improve traffic management, resiliency, and platform security.
  • Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, and security teams to establish enterprise integration standards.
Documentation & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop technical documentation, deployment standards, operational procedures, and best practices.
  • Contribute to reusable cloud integration patterns that improve long-term maintainability.
