Job description

1. Job Purpose/Objective
Up to $18.50/ Hour
This position is responsible for scheduling, directing, and communicating with drivers to ensure on-time service delivery and providing service excellence to all customers, vendors, clients, and employees that require transportation services/assistance at all times.
2. Essential Job Functions
Incumbent may perform any or all of the following:
  • Respond to all communication apparatuses related to Operations
    • Phones
    • Radios
    • Email
  • Maintain various logs related to Operations
    • Driver logs
    • Vehicle logs
    • Incident logs
    • Accident protocol
  • Efficiently schedule/reschedule drivers and equipment to ensure proper service delivery monitoring the following:
    • Driver qualifications
    • Vehicle qualifications
    • Special requests
    • Timing
  • Monitor all drivers and/or movements to ensure timeliness
  • Ensure driver familiarity with movements for proper execution
  • Create, maintain, and distribute any and all paperwork or tools required for drivers
    • Manifests
    • Microphones
    • Signs
  • Accurately record trip information for accounting purposes
  • Maintain professional working relationship with all employees and customers both internal and external
  • Keep management informed of incidents that arise pertaining to the Operation
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by management

3. Working Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Air Conditioned office

  • General office equipment and supplies
  • Light work- exerting up to 20 pounds of force on occasionally, involves sitting most of the time
  • Using fingers frequently for typing
  • Talking- must be able to convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately
  • Hearing-being able to receive detailed information through oral communication
  • Worker not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in a typical or administrative work)
  • Work is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles when necessary and have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal and preparing schedules and inputting data onto computers
  • The dispatch office is located on the second floor of the building with a flight of stairs leading to it
  • Potentially high stress and fast paced environment

4. Supervision
This position requires supervising of other employees such as drivers to enforce company policies regarding safety, service, and conduct n accordance with company handbook.
5. Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) - i.e. skillsets, KPI's education, certifications, etc.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of Oahu roadways and venues
  • Minimum one year experience in tourism/transportation field
  • Ability to read maps and effectively give directions
  • Ability to multi task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and command of the English language
  • Basic office skills: basic knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, 10-key, internet, and telephone skills
