Job description

Entrec Alberta is a heavy haul trucking company providing specialized oversized and overweight transport, jack & slide, and oilfield trucking services to customers across Western Canada from its facilities in Grande Prairie, Nisku, and Fort McMurray. Entrec Alberta is a member of LaPrairie Group of Companies.


For over 45 years, LaPrairie Group of Companies has proudly provided the mining and resource industries in Western Canada with a variety of services - cranes, trucking, heavy equipment and light vehicle repairs and maintenance. LaPrairie is 100% Canadian owned and operated.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide Operations Managers and Executive with accurate and timely financial and operational analysis and data that will optimize and promote day-to-day profitability and efficiency.
  • Manage the full-cycle accounting process and reporting, including preparation of financial statements, review of payroll data, providing oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable (collections).
  • Manage all accounting and administrative staff.
  • Prepare, analyze and present monthly operating results. Review services pricing, costing and margins.
  • Oversee all month-end and year-end financial and accounting requirements. Maintain yearend working papers and spreadsheets.
  • Maintain up-to-date electronic filing systems of bookkeeping and financial records.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and oversee equipment audits.
  • Ensure proper insurance coverage is in place for assets, garage policies, buildings.
  • Other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in financial and accounting management.
  • CPA or accounting designation is an asset, but not a requirement.
  • Experience with the trucking, cranes and heavy hauling industries is an asset.
  • Ability to communication professionally - both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to build and maintain great relationships with managers and co-workers.
  • Ability to maintain good customer and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.


This role can either be placed in Calgary or Grande Prairie, AB.
