Job description

ABOUT THE ROLE:

A well-capitalized, privately held real estate investment and development firm is adding a Senior Business Analyst to its growing Operations team in Dallas. This is a highly visible, data-driven role that sits at the intersection of compensation modeling, financial analytics, and operational reporting โ€” supporting senior leadership and partnering cross-functionally across Finance, Accounting, Capital Markets, and Regional Teams.

The team has grown rapidly over the past three years and has invested heavily in data warehousing and automation infrastructure. The person stepping into this role will build on that foundation โ€” not starting from scratch.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Compensation and Incentive Modeling

  • Administer and automate incentive compensation programs (short-term, long-term, and other plan structures), including maintaining underlying data models and calculations
  • Develop and maintain complex compensation models and standardized templates supporting incentive calculations and the annual review cycle
  • Partner with Human Resources to analyze market compensation data and support new hire and internal benchmarking
  • Present compensation findings and recommendations to senior leadership

Financial Planning, Reporting, and Analytics:

  • Partner with the FP&A Director on financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis across the investment platform
  • Support cash flow forecasting and capital planning across investments and corporate activities
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for assigned areas and consolidate cross-functional inputs
  • Prepare portfolio performance summaries for leadership โ€” trends, variances, risks, and opportunities

Ideal Requirements:

Experience

  • 2โ€“5 years in financial planning, operations analytics, compensation analysis, FP&A, or a related finance role
  • Backgrounds we find compelling: FP&A / financial analytics, operations or strategy roles, Big 4 (Audit, Deals, or Advisory) professionals looking to move out of pure accounting
  • Real estate exposure is preferred but not required
  • High-potential early-career candidates with a strong analytical foundation will also be considered

Skills and Tools:

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills โ€” able to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights
  • Proficiency with reporting, analytics, and data visualization tools (Power BI, QuickBase, OneStream, or equivalent)
  • Working knowledge of dashboard development and database management
  • Python experience is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills โ€” comfortable presenting to senior leadership
  • Self-starter with a high degree of ownership; able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or related field required
  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus

WHY THIS ROLE:

  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional decision-making
  • Team that has intentionally invested in data infrastructure โ€” you will be working with modern tooling, not spreadsheet archaeology
  • Genuine opportunity to shape how the function evolves as the platform grows
  • Full-time, on-site in Dallas
