Berkley Select is evolving its operating model to support continued growth, increased underwriting complexity, and expanded use of data, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.

The Operations Analyst II supports this evolution by analyzing, enhancing, and helping implement operational processes that are efficient, well-controlled, and scalable.

This role contributes to process improvement efforts, supports data-driven decision-making, and helps ensure that operational enhancements are effectively adopted within day-to-day operations.

Operations & Process Improvement

  • Analyze current operational processes to identify inefficiencies, manual steps, and potential risks.
  • Support the design and implementation of process improvements aligned to underwriting and service needs.
  • Maintain process documentation, including workflows, procedures, and control frameworks.

Analytics, Automation & AI Support

  • Partner with Technology and Business teams to support implementation of automation and AI-enabled solutions (e.g., workflow tools, document processing).
  • Assist in evaluating operational readiness and control considerations for new tools and processes.
  • Use data analysis to identify trends, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain operational reports and dashboards to track key metrics such as throughput, quality, and service levels.
  • Summarize data insights and provide actionable recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Assist with forecasting and capacity planning efforts.

Risk, Controls & Compliance

  • Support the execution of processes with appropriate controls to meet internal risk and audit standards.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams to assist with control testing, issue tracking, and documentation.
  • Identify and escalate operational risks related to process or system changes.

Stakeholder Partnership & Change Support

  • Collaborate with Operations, Underwriting, Technology, Risk, and Finance teams on process improvement initiatives.
  • Support change management efforts, including development of training materials and job aids.
  • Participate in pilots, implementations, and post-implementation reviews.

The position is based in Chicago; in-office four days per week.

The company offers a competitive compensation plan and robust benefits package for full time regular employees which for this role includes:
Base Salary Range: $76,000 - 78,000.
The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary bonus program.
