Job Responsibilities
This position provides comprehensive administrative and technical support to the Director of Academic Operations and Technology and supports the work of the Office of Distance Education. Responsibilities include managing daily office operations, supporting faculty and students, coordinating program logistics, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
The role also supports data entry, procurement, scheduling, and customer service functions to facilitate the effective delivery of educational programs and distance education initiatives. The successful candidate will help ensure efficient administrative processes while providing responsive and professional support to faculty, students, and other stakeholders.
This position will be located on either the Midlands Technical College Airport or Beltline Campus.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications
An associate degree and additional years of experience may be acceptable. Selected positions may require the ability to type at a corrected rate of 35-55 words per minute and/or demonstrate basic computer operation skills. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and be able to learn new software systems quickly. Experience with student information systems such as Colleague (Datatel) is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and multitasking abilities are essential. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, customer service orientation, and the ability to work independently with sound judgment and discretion. Knowledge of college policies, procedures, and programs are beneficial.
