Job description

Role Summary:


The NAM Operational Excellence Leader will lead a consistent and rapid LEAN deployment, providing leadership for CI initiatives, assessing current business performance, identifying gaps, establishing and implementing improvement plans, monitoring progress, and sharing best-in-class ideas and processes. In this role, you will utilize CI to achieve and exceed business objectives and build plant confidence in the acceptance of change management and performance improvements while maintaining a focus on customer satisfaction and the quality of performance.
Responsibilities:

  • Be the facility lead practitioner, coach, teacher, trainer and consultant in developing, supporting, and leading CI culture within your site and across Flowserve as required
  • Facilitate CI actions and employee involvement teams throughout the platform / site and across all functional areas in the pursuit of sustained beneficial change
  • Implement a train-the-trainer approach and rapid, sustained implementation through learn by doing methods
  • Facilitate improvement implementation through employee teams, CI events, team improvement projects and LEAN Enterprise training workshops
  • Provide local leadership, coaching and training in LEAN thinking, processes and production
  • Co-create, sustain, revise and measure progress on the Business Area CI Plan that contributes to future state
  • Focus teams on CI by involving people in meeting productivity and site / platform objectives
  • Identify opportunities to implement common processes and best practices from other facilities within Platforms and across Flowserve
  • Disseminate and act upon relevant industry and corporate benchmarking data
  • Ensure that benefits related to CI initiatives are calculated according to corporate standards and are ultimately achieved within targeted time span
  • Ensure that planned improvements are implemented, measured, driven to closure and crossed to operating results
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements:

  • BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 8-10+ years relevant experience
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma Black Belt, Green Belt or LEAN Certified
  • Industry or Business experience where LEAN or Operational Excellence is core to the business
  • Demonstrated Change Management experience
  • Strong facilitation experience
  • An interest in process and quality improvement
  • Problem solving tools (Fishbone, 5 Why's/ Ishikawa, Pareto Analysis, and Stratification)
  • Knowledge in statistics tools and problem solving
  • Able to work with/across all functional areas and all levels of the business
  • Excellent verbal, written and facilitation communication skills
  • Highly Proficient in the use of MS Office tools (Excel and PowerPoint in particular)

Preferred:

  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Experience using PowerBI
