About this role
Diamond Infrastructure Solutions and has an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Work Activity Coordinator Lead in Hahnville, LA! The St. Charles Operations Central Maintenance Shop is looking for a dedicated individual to coordinate skilled trades. This role is crucial in ensuring maximum reliability and cost efficiency for our plant partners. By leveraging your expertise, you will play a vital part in maintaining the seamless operation of our facilities, ultimately contributing to the success and sustainability of our operations. You will ensure work activities are carried out safely in an effective and efficient way. Manage productivity of the team that performs the task. This role is responsible for planning, reviewing, coordinating, and authorizing safe crane and rigging activities across the site. This includes creating or reviewing 3D lift plans, ensuring lift plans meet SCO/Diamond requirements, coordinating approvals with civil engineering and operations leadership, verifying crane setup and rigging compliance, conducting pre-lift meetings, and authorizing lifts to proceed. The role also supports daily work prioritization, crane and equipment readiness, schedule coordination, documentation retention, equipment inspection planning, procedure development, employee coaching, and communication with maintenance, operations, planning, material coordination, and leadership stakeholders.
Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for crane, equipment, and rigging tasks.
• Act as maintenance focal point for plant partners - coordinates Diamond and Contractor trades.
• Review job packages and prepares to do the task.
• Assist in allocation of resources for resource leveraging.
• Initiate the work permit procedure, as necessary.
• Report on the progress of the daily work to enable adjustments to the work schedule when needed. Review work status with service providers and originators and adjust schedule as required.
• Reassign person scheduled to perform work to the next job, in the event the equipment is not prepared for maintenance on originally assigned job.
• Confirm that all scheduled job sequences, work and paperwork for the job have all been completed. Close work order.
• Perform the role of shift procedure use focal point for maintenance activity.
• Review completed job packets and quality form; ensure non-conformances are used where required. Coach tradespersons when completed procedures/checklists/equipment repair forms are not filled out correctly.
• Conduct field audits to ensure procedures are being used according to the local Maintenance Procedure Use Policy.
• Deliver 100% Maintenance Compliance Task Completion and perform shop audits.

Required Qualifications

• A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 4+ years of relevant experience
• NCCCO or NCCER certification or currently pursuing certifications
• Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
• Participate in maintenance staff on call.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience operating cranes in industrial or construction environments
• Operations or Skilled Trades experience
• CDL
• Lift Director
• SAP experience
• Maintenance and /or Activity planning and coordination experience
• Demonstrated supervision/influential leadership skills within work groups

Physical Demands

• Communication: Effectively exchanges critical information with team members, signal persons, and supervisors to ensure safe and coordinated crane and rigging operations. This includes clear interpretation of hand signals, radio communication, and verbal instructions, ensuring all parties remain aligned throughout lifting activities.
• Decision Making: Applies sound judgment to assess lift conditions, equipment status, and environmental risks, making timely decisions that prioritize safety and operational efficiency. This includes knowing when to stop work, adjust lift execution, or escalate concerns based on changing conditions.
• Proactive Problem Solving: Anticipates potential operational or safety issues (e.g., unstable loads, equipment limitations, hazardous conditions) and takes early action to mitigate risk. Demonstrates the ability to identify root causes and implement practical solutions before problems impact safety or productivity.
• Work Coordination: Effectively organizes and aligns activities between crane operators, riggers, signal persons, and other crew members to ensure lifts are executed safely and efficiently. Ensures all roles understand the lift plan, sequencing, and responsibilities prior to and during execution.
• Rigging: Applies technical knowledge and skill to safely select, inspect, and use rigging equipment (e.g., slings, shackles, hooks) to attach and control loads during lifting operations. Ensures proper load balance, secure attachment, and controlled movement throughout the lift.
