Job description

Requisition Title: Operations Data Analyst III
Duration: 1 year
San Ramon, CA

Consultant will primarily work remotely but will need to come on-site as needed. 

Key Responsibilities

·        Provide end‑to‑end support for MDMS operations, including ingestion, VEE processing, aggregation, and data publishing

·        Analysis and resolution of complex data quality issues, system defects, and integration failures

·        Configure, and optimize VEE rules, exception handling, and performance tuning

·        Monitor, and troubleshoot MDMS batch jobs, workflows, dependencies, and calendars

·        Investigation and resolution of complex MDMS and scheduling failures, including missed runs, data delays, and downstream             impacts

·        Oversee and support integrations between MDMS and other enterprise systems (CIS, AMI, Analytics, Data Warehouse, etc.)

·        Execute comprehensive test cycles functional, performance and ORT for system changes, defect fixes, and new functionality

·        Develop and maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational standards

·        Participate in incident management, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

·        Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

·        5+ years of hands‑on experience in Unix and Oracle applications including 24/7 application support.

·        Experience supporting MDMS and AMI systems within a utility environment

·        Understanding of Smart Meter technologies, interval data, and utility business processes

·        Experience with at least one enterprise MDMS platform (e.g., Landis+Gyr, Itron, Oracle, Siemens)

·        Expertise in SQL and advanced data analysis for troubleshooting, reporting, and validation

·        Experience supporting SOX‑regulated systems, including compliance with access controls, audit logging, and change                       management requirements

·        Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑level communication

Preferred Qualifications

·        Experience supporting Landis+Gyr MDMS platform

·        Experience supporting both electric and gas MDMS implementations

·        Experience working IBM power series infrastructure

·        Familiarity with AMI head‑end systems and communication networks

·        Experience with large‑scale AMI deployments or enterprise transformations

·        Knowledge of regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance requirements

·        Experience supporting time‑of‑use, net metering, demand response, or EV programs

Technical Skills

·        Strong hands‑on experience with Oracle databases (SQL tuning, PL/SQL programming, data validation, performance troubleshooting)

·        Experience supporting applications on AIX/Linux platforms, including job monitoring and log analysis

·        Experience working in Oracle WebLogic platform.

·        Proficient in Python/UNIX scripting for automation, data analysis, operational reporting, and problem resolution

·        Experience troubleshooting application, database, and OS‑level issues in a production environment

·        Hands‑on experience with enterprise scheduling/workload automation tools, such as UC4

·        Experience supporting mission‑critical batch processing and time‑sensitive data flows
