Sia Hayes at First Connect Health is fast-tracking applications for two highly skilled Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurses to support an 8-suite surgical department in Avon, IN. This premium contract is at a short-term acute care facility with an immediate, afternoon-specific interview pipeline.
POSITION QUICK-FACTS
- Openings: 2 Positions Available
- Shift: 07:00 AM - 19:30 PM | 3x12-Hour Day Shifts (Block scheduling is not offered)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours weekly
- On-Call Mandate: Minimal call requirements capped at no more than 40 hours of call in a 6-week period (averages four 12-hour shifts per 6 weeks).
- Weekend Call: One Friday night and one Saturday night (19:00 PM - 07:00 AM) per 6-week block.
- Response Time: Must report to the unit within 45 minutes of page.
- Systems & Charting: Cerner EMR (Required).

THE CLINICAL MATRIX
- The Environment: Modern 8-suite Operating Room handling diverse surgical demographics across adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric populations.
- Specialized Robotics: 2 of the 8 suites are fully integrated with Da Vinci Xi Surgical Systems handling complex colorectal, GI, gynecologic, and urologic robotic interventions.
- Support Framework: Comprehensive interdisciplinary backup including dedicated IV teams, anesthesia tech support, phlebotomy, 24/7 radiology, and rapid response teams.
- Dress Code: Red scrub tops paired with black scrub bottoms (traveler provided).
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (HARDSTOPS)
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of dedicated inpatient Operating Room experience. First-time travel nurses will not be accepted [HARDSTOP].
- Core Skill Competency [CRITICAL]: Must be highly proficient in both circulating and scrubbing. Profiles will be immediately screened out if they lack verifiable, high-level skill checklist ratings (3 out of 4 or higher) across at least 3 of these 4 specific surgical tracks:
- General Surgery (Whipple, colon resections, lap-assisted cases)
- Gynecology (Hysterectomies, colporrhaphy, advanced GYN scrub)
- Urology (Nephrectomies, prostatectomies, cystoscopy)
- Orthopedics (Total joints, sports medicine, complex spine/fusions)
- Robotic Requirement: Proven hands-on scrubbing and circulating experience with the Da Vinci Xi system is an absolute requirement.
- Licensure: Active, unrestricted Indiana (IN) state RN license or valid multi-state Compact license must be in-hand at the time of submission.
- Certifications: Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS and ACLS certifications must be uploaded with the profile.
- Immunization Mandate: Current seasonal Influenza (Flu) vaccination is required (Facility permits documented medical or religious exemptions only).
- Local Rate Adjustments: Indiana residents are welcome to apply; however, local travelers with an IN permanent residence are subject to a $15/hr bill rate reduction.
- Interview Availability Requirement: The facility conducts formal interviews exclusively in the afternoons. You must provide 2 to 3 specific afternoon time slots when you are available to speak with the manager directly inside your submission notes.
