Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Current, valid Michigan teaching certificate; with endorsement in Math (EX) or Science (DX) required.
  • Strong knowledge of secondary teaching methodology, child development, and STEAM principles.
  • Experience with a wide range of teaching, classroom management, and assessment strategies and the ability to apply these in the secondary classroom setting.
  • Experience in planning, preparing and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for all students to which he or she is assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Understanding and willingness to differentiate instruction, as needed, for multiple learning styles and ability levels.
  • Willing to assist in the development of curriculum and pacing of the Next Generation Science Standards and STEAM technology class.
  • Ability and commitment necessary to develop and improve STEAM curriculum for secondary students.
  • Willingness and ability to collaborate with classroom teachers on content area instruction and student needs.
  • Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
  • Assign and grade class work, assessments and assignments.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development including grading/responding to online discussions, contacting students via e-mail or instant messaging on a regular basis.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law and school regulations.
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers and community.
  • Prepare required reports on student performance and activities.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. All work responsibilities are subject to having performance goals and/or targets established as part of the annual performance planning process or as the result of organizational planning.
