Job description

Part-Time STEAM Assistant or Instructor

Snapology is a leading children’s enrichment franchise that helps children learn through hands-on creating, designing, building, and problem-solving. We provide complete curriculum, materials, and training.

We are hiring multiple people for two part-time positions serving Burlington, Greensboro, and surrounding areas.


Availability Needed: Applicants should have some availability between 7:30 a.m. and 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. We offer weekday teacher workday camps and after-school programs that typically begin around 3:00 p.m. Additional weekend opportunities may be available.


Position 1: STEAM Assistant — $12 to $14 per hour

This entry-level position supports the lead instructor and helps programs run smoothly. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with classroom and behavior management
  • Setting up and cleaning up program materials
  • Managing student sign-in and sign-out
  • Taking approved program photos
  • Helping students complete hands-on activities
  • Maintaining a safe, organized, and energetic environment


Position 2: STEAM Instructor — Up to $16 to $20 per hour

Instructors lead curriculum-based STEAM programs for children ages 4–14. Programs may include classes, camps, workshops, after-school programs, in-school field trips, birthday parties, and community events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading groups of students through hands-on STEAM activities
  • Teaching science, technology, engineering, art, and math concepts
  • Encouraging creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving
  • Establishing and enforcing classroom expectations
  • Monitoring student participation and adjusting instruction as needed
  • Preparing by reviewing curriculum and completing required training
  • Communicating professionally with parents, partner staff, and Snapology leadership
  • Keeping programs fun, engaging, and well organized


Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a classroom, camp, childcare, or enrichment setting
  • Strong communication and classroom-management skills
  • Dependable, professional, and punctual
  • Able to work cooperatively with children, families, coworkers, and community partners
  • Reliable transportation to program locations
  • Able to complete required criminal and child-related background clearances
  • Education or teaching experience is preferred for Instructor applicants but is not required


Schedule and Compensation

This is a part-time position, typically offering approximately 6–30 hours per week depending on availability, enrollment, and the time of year.

  • STEAM Assistant: $12 to $14 per hour
  • STEAM Instructor: Up to $20 per hour, based on experience and assignment
  • Training and administrative time may be paid at a separate rate
  • Some events may be paid at a predetermined flat rate
