Job description

Summary


Leverage your mechanical and technical expertise to maintain and service the largest rental mobile boiler fleet in the NYC/Long Island area. This position allows you to closely work with an experienced, factory-trained service technician to gain proficiency in mobile boiler repair, installation, and maintenance while you ensure all systems operate safely and reliably to meet customer expectations. In this role, you will work and train with a team of experienced Technicians to assist with installations and repairs of boilers, while helping maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop during the down hours. Overtime Hours are available and encouraged.


Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assist the mechanic team with installing and/or replacing boiler safety systems and components.
  • Assist the fabrication team with repairing leaking boiler tubes by organizing and preparing materials.
  • Assist with cleaning and repairing pressure vessels on heating and water systems.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance on boiler systems and pressure vessels.
  • Conform to safety standards as prescribed.
  • Keep the shop clean and organized during downtime, including stowing incoming materials so floor space stays clear of obstacles.
  • Clean, wash, and paint trailers returning to the shop when instructed.
  • Stay productively engaged with work tasks; ask when unsure what to work on next.
  • Refrain from using cell phones for personal reasons during work hours, outside of emergency situations.
  • Wear appropriate PPE for the given task without needing to be reminded.
  • Perform other tasks related to the position, as assigned.

Physical Requirements


  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift more with assistance or equipment.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, and climbing (ladders and stairs).
  • Prolonged standing and walking on shop and job site surfaces, including uneven or outdoor terrain.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and occasionally in confined spaces.
  • Manual dexterity to safely use hand and power tools.


Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior mechanical, trade, or hands-on repair experience is a plus, but not required — this is an entry-level position.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
