POSITION PURPOSE
The part-time Online School Social Worker supports students at Snake River Opportunities High School through social-emotional, behavioral, and mental health services in a virtual learning environment. This position includes direct support for students and families, collaboration with staff, and coordination of resources to help remove barriers to student success across both online school programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Idaho Pupil Service Staff Certification with a School Social Worker Endorsement or related licensure.
  • Experience working with students in both elementary and secondary settings preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Knowledge of confidentiality laws, mental health supports, and community resources.
  • Ability to manage digital tools such as video conferencing, secure messaging, and recordkeeping systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teachers at Snake River Opportunities High School serve as both mentor teachers and content teachers.
  • Provide social-emotional, behavioral, and family support services in a virtual school model.
  • Support students and families through individual meetings, check-ins, referrals, and resource coordination as needed.
  • Collaborate with teachers, mentors, counselors, administration, and other staff to help identify barriers and support student success.
  • Maintain appropriate confidential records and documentation in district-approved systems.
  • Participate in MTSS, crisis response, and mandated reporting responsibilities as needed.
  • Support student engagement and well-being across the online program.
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and other assigned responsibilities.

WORK SETTING
Work from home, with periodic in-person meetings, student and family support activities, and other on-site responsibilities as needed throughout the year.

Placement on the Snake River School District salary schedule.
