About the Job:
Township High School District 214 is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Interim Record Clerk - Part-Time to support the Food and Nutrition Services program at John Hersey High School.
The Interim Record Clerk supports the daily operation of the school's Food and Nutrition Services program through recordkeeping, cashiering, financial reconciliation, customer service, and general food service support. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced school environment.
The pay starts at $21.71 per hour.

  • Salary Grade: Food and Nutrition Services Grade III - $21.71
  • Reports To: School Nutrition Services Manager
What You Will Do:
Under the direction of the food service manager, you will:
  • Maintain accurate daily Food and Nutrition Services records and complete required reports.
  • Operate the WebSMARTT point-of-sale (POS) system and assist with daily cashiering functions.
  • Count and reconcile daily receipts and prepare bank deposits.
  • Maintain accurate records related to sales, inventory, and other Food and Nutrition Services activities.
  • Assist with inventory, deliveries, and proper storage of food and supplies.
  • Provide courteous and efficient service to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Assist with food preparation and service as needed.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized work, service, and storage areas.
  • Follow applicable federal, state, local, District, USDA, health department, safety, sanitation, and HACCP requirements.
  • Follow established food handling, storage, cleaning, sanitizing, and disposal procedures.
  • Assist with special functions and catered events as needed.
  • Report supply needs and equipment concerns to the School Nutrition Services Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the School Nutrition Services Manager and/or Director of Food and Nutrition Services.
What We Need From You (Qualifications):
You should be able to:
  • Read, write, and understand English well enough to follow instructions, complete records, and perform the responsibilities of the position.
  • Accurately maintain records, reconcile daily receipts, prepare bank deposits, and complete required reports.
  • Perform basic math calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, as well as calculations involving weight and volume.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service while working effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate dependability, promptness, flexibility, good judgment, and trustworthiness.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions and established Food and Nutrition Services procedures.
  • Lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Stand for at least 3 hours without stopping.
  • Bend, stoop, and reach frequently.
  • Work in environments that may be hot, cold, or wet and adjust to changing work conditions.
  • Safely operate food preparation and food service equipment.
  • Follow all applicable food safety, sanitation, school nutrition, and HACCP requirements.
  • Have completed a Food Service Sanitation course and obtained the required Sanitation Certification, or be able to complete the course and obtain certification within one school year.
  • Have previous food service experience or the ability to successfully adapt to a school food service environment.
