Lead Purchaser - Residential Plumbing (New Construction)
Location: Rockwall, TX

About Us
We are a fast-growing residential plumbing company specializing in new construction. Our growth has created the need for an experienced Lead Purchaser who understands residential plumbing systems, materials, and installation processes.
This is not an entry-level purchasing position. We are looking for someone who already understands how residential plumbing is installed and what materials are required at each stage of construction.
Position Overview
The Lead Purchaser is responsible for managing all material procurement for residential new construction projects. This is a high-volume, fast-paced desk position requiring strong knowledge of plumbing materials, blueprint reading, and online purchasing systems.
The right candidate will be able to hit the ground running with minimal training.
Job Responsibilities
  • Create accurate Bills of Material for residential homes
  • Generate and track Purchase Orders
  • Order materials through vendor websites
  • Review construction plans and design selections
  • Adjust orders based on field change orders
  • Coordinate with field supervisors and project managers
  • Maintain material organization and vendor relationships

Required Qualifications (Must Have)
  • Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience in residential new construction plumbing installations
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Rough-in materials
  • Top-out materials
  • Trim materials
  • Underground plumbing systems
  • Gas systems
  • Water distribution systems
  • Ability to read and interpret:
  • Residential blueprints
  • Change orders
  • Design selection sheets
  • Experience creating Bills of Material (BOM)
  • Experience generating Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Proficient using:
  • Internet-based vendor ordering systems
  • Email communication
  • Basic computer functions

Note: All purchasing is completed online. Computer proficiency is required. We do not have the capacity to train someone on basic computer use.
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Texas State Plumbing License
  • Experience in commercial plumbing (residential experience remains the priority)
