Job description

AI Product DeveloperAI Systems & Operational Applications | Stress-Free Auto CareAbout Stress-Free Auto Care

At Stress-Free Auto Care, we are building internally developed operational software designed specifically for modern automotive service operations. Our platform combines shop management systems, workflow automation, customer communication, operational analytics, and AI-assisted tooling into a unified ecosystem used by both frontline employees and customers.

As we continue scaling the platform across live production environments, we are looking for a highly capable Product Engineer to help rapidly build, improve, and operationalize AI-driven applications across the business.

This is a highly cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of product, operations, AI systems, and real-world execution.

About the Role

This is not a traditional software engineering role.

We are not looking for someone who has spent their entire career purely as an engineer. We are looking for a highly intelligent technical generalist who enjoys solving operational problems, rapidly building solutions with AI tools, and working directly alongside end users in live environments.

You'll be working directly with the CEO at a venture capital backed and fast growing company. The ideal candidate is highly adaptable, execution-oriented, and capable of figuring things out quickly across multiple domains.

Candidates with experience from top-tier consulting firms, financial institutions, hedge funds, or similarly analytical environments may be especially strong fits.

This role is best suited for someone who thrives in fast-moving, ambiguous, and highly iterative environments.

The role fuses product, engineering, and design, enabled by AI

Responsibilities
  • Build and improve internal operational applications using modern AI development tools
  • Observe real-world operational workflows and identify inefficiencies or usability challenges
  • Rapidly prototype, test, and deploy workflow improvements
  • Work directly with frontline shop teams to improve operational usability and system adoption
  • Translate operational problems into scalable technical solutions
  • Participate in AI workflow optimization and prompt engineering initiatives
  • Support rapid iteration cycles across deployed systems and operational platforms
  • Improve usability, reliability, and scalability across internal applications
  • Partner closely with leadership and operational teams to continuously improve platform functionality

Projects may include:

  • Shop management systems,
  • Finance-related applications,
  • HR applications,
  • Operational tracking tools
  • AI-driven training or simulation environments.
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years of experience in a highly analytical, technical, or operational environment
  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude, Codex, and GitHub
  • Ability to explain when and why to use different AI tooling and workflows
  • Strong problem-solving ability and intellectual curiosity
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving and ambiguous environments
  • Highly autonomous with strong execution capability

A computer science background is a plus, but not required.

We care far more about intelligence, adaptability, product instincts, and execution capability than traditional engineering credentials.

What This Role Is Not

This is not a meeting-heavy product management role, a traditional corporate engineering role, or a pure roadmap coordination position.

This is a hands-on operational product role for someone who enjoys building, solving problems, working closely with users, and shipping improvements quickly in real-world environments.

Compensation
  • Compensation will vary based on experience, capability, and overall fit
  • Equity participation included
