What to Expect

Tesla's continued success depends on engineers being able to develop, debug, and deploy software quickly. Our web services, tools, and build infrastructure directly impact over 1000 vehicle, energy, and Autopilot software engineers. You'll be joining a small team located at the center of the firmware organization called Engineering Productivity, Build and Internal Infrastructure. This uniquepositionexposes us to a wide array of interesting technical challenges and enables us to be the defenders of best practices such as code hygiene, reuse, and maintainability.As the brains of a whole organization, you will work on developer experience, build frameworks and high availability of tools, services, and computational clusters.

Join us, and besides helping every software developer, you will push your first PR with your own code to a real Tesla vehicle in your first week, impact real world Tesla customers with faster and more reliable Over-the-Air updates, make decisions on the real-world products delivered to customers, and help accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

What You'll Do
  • Building new and enhancing existing developer tools
  • Write new React components in support of new features
  • Improve and maintain our web-based team landing page
  • Debug issues in production, root cause and apply fixes in timely manner
  • Accelerating Tesla's software development life cycle

What You'll Bring
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, proof of exceptional skills in related fields with practical software engineering experience, or equivalent experience
  • Strong working knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (React.js,Backbone.js,Angular.js)
  • Strong CSS skills, experience working with CSS pre-compilers (SASS, LESS,etc.)
  • Experience in building highly scalable architectures
  • Python or Ruby development experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills

Expected Compensation $172,000 - $312,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
