Minimum Education/Training/Experience
  • Master's degree or higher in Political Science/Government OR Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in Political Science/Government.
  • Teaching experience.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience
  • Can teach Texas Government.
  • Can teach face-to-face courses.
  • Dual credit and online teaching experience.

Minimum Knowledge & Skills
Detailed knowledge of materials being taught in the specific course and program area;
Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with students, coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction;
Basic computer literacy sufficient to perform job duties;
Knowledge of student engagement techniques, learning styles, retention strategies, and learning-centered philosophy;
Experience with or willingness to learn the latest teaching/learning technologies and online instruction; and
Record keeping procedures.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
  • Familiar with D2L
  • Ability to create original lecture videos/audio for online courses
  • Most preferred: Ability to teach Texas Government

Job Duties
Classroom and/or Online assignment(s) as needed. The most immediate need is for 1-2 lecture classes in a live classroom format (on campus).
