What is an On Call Scripps RN?

An On Call Scripps RN is a registered nurse who works for Scripps Health on an as-needed basis, filling in for shifts across various departments and locations. These nurses provide critical support by covering staffing gaps due to absences, surges in patient volume, or other staffing needs. On Call RNs must be adaptable, experienced, and ready to work in a variety of clinical settings, ensuring high-quality patient care at all times. They often need to be available at short notice and may have flexible or irregular schedules.

How to make $100,000 as a RN?

Registered nurses (RNs) can earn $100,000 or more by gaining specialized certifications, working in high-demand areas such as intensive care or anesthesia, and taking on overtime or per diem shifts. Advancing to roles like nurse practitioner or nurse anesthetist typically requires additional education and licensure but offers higher earning potential. Experience, location, and employer also significantly influence salary levels.

How does the on-call structure work for Scripps RNs, and what should I expect in terms of scheduling and response time?

As an On Call Scripps RN, you will typically be expected to remain available during your designated on-call shifts, which may include evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays. When called in, response times are usually specified by department policies, often requiring you to arrive at the facility within a set timeframe (commonly 30-60 minutes). Scheduling is generally communicated in advance, but flexibility is essential since patient needs can fluctuate. This role offers exposure to various departments and cases, providing valuable experience and opportunities for professional growth within the Scripps Health system.

What is the highest paying RN nurse job?

The highest paying RN nurse jobs are often in specialized fields such as nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners in advanced practice roles, and critical care or surgical intensive care nurses. Nurse anesthetists, in particular, typically earn the highest salaries among registered nurses due to their advanced training and certification requirements. These roles often require a master's degree, certification, and significant clinical experience.

Does Scripps offer remote work?

On Call Scripps RNs typically work on-site at healthcare facilities, as their roles require direct patient care and clinical presence. Remote work options are generally limited for this position due to the nature of nursing responsibilities.
