Job description

This is a Full-Time (72 hours per pay period) with 12-hour VARIED shifts that include days, evenings, nights, and rotations of weekends and holidays.

Our Scripps System-wide Resource Services (SSRS) department supports the entire Scripps Health system.  As a member of the Seasonal team, you can fill vital roles on a contract basis (13 or 26 weeks) to provide critical coverage for peak seasonal demands while gaining experience in a variety of environments. 

This position will help cover our Maternal Child Health teams at La Jolla and Mercy San Diego, Hillcrest.

Hourly rate $68.03

$9,000 Completion bonus available at the end of the initial 13-week assignment.

Join our Scripps SSRS team as a Registered Nurse where you will provide direct patient care within the scope of your practice. This includes the following: assessment, planning and implementing a plan of care and evaluating patients' progress towards expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for the patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under his/her supervision. Works collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.

Preferred Education/Course(s)/Training/Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
  • RNC preferred.
  • 2 years' experience in Labor & Delivery preferred.
  • EPIC experience preferred.
  • Experience circulating in the operating room is preferred.
  • Triage experience preferred.

 Required Experience/Specialized Skills: 

  • 1-year experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • 1-year experience in Post-Partum.
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  •  Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors.
  • Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing

Required Certification/Registration:

  • Current CA RN License
  • Current BLS-C provider from American Heart Association.
  • Current Advanced NRP (AAP-issued 8th edition or AAP-issued 7th edition)
  • Current Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring Certificate from AWHONN or NCC

Travel Requirements: 

  • Will be assigned to one of the three Scripps Health hospital campuses: La Jolla and Mercy San Diego (Hillcrest). 

 Position is eligible for a retention bonus based off qualifications.

The following are not eligible for hiring incentives:

  • Internal candidates
  • Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met

  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
