Job description

The On-Call Part-Time Maintenance Technician supports Norfolk Naval Shipyard and reports to the Quality Assurance Manager. This position is 100% on-site.
Responsibilities:
  • Respond on-call: diagnose and repair HVAC systems, roof/water, electrical, etc.
  • Assess amp; Repair: Diagnose issues and perform repairs related to:
    • HVAC systems
    • Roof/water intrusion (mate line issues)
    • Electrical/power issues
    • Ceiling/floor tile damage
    • Doors, locks, and adjustments
    • General modular unit maintenance
  • Operate Equipment: Use of
    • Forklifts (including 36K models)
    • Telehandlers
    • Scissor lifts and manlifts
  • Coordinate Contractors: Oversee third-party contractors (HVAC, electricians, locksmiths, etc.) as needed.
  • Document all findings and repairs, and provide updates to the QA Manager
  • Respond to service calls and schedule assessments within 24 hours of notification
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
  • Available for on call responses
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of working independently
