Schedule: Monday through Friday 8-5pm / 830-530pm / 9-6pm, On Call Week & Weekend Rotations

Our client is looking for a dedicated logistics professional to join their Brokerage Team.  As a Freight Broker within
the company’s logistics division, you will have the opportunity to be part of a top tier Logistics Company. Responsibilities
  • Knowledgeable in Brokerage Trucking software’s (worked in them previously). Includes DAT 360, Internet Truckstop & other load boards.
  • Responsible for scheduling pickup and delivery times with partner carriers and ensuring on time delivery.
  • Responsible for daily check calls, including tracking, tracing and collecting POD's of all shipments.
  • Responsible to grow and maintaining a strong partner carrier base to support your operation.
  • Must have knowledge of asset utilization, HOS regulations and DOT rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for collecting, organizing and ensuring accuracy of partner carrier paperwork.
  • Taking orders from customers via email and by phone, negotiating competitive rates, providing proper documentation and ensuring delivery schedules within an expedited time-frame.
  • Expediting as necessary to ensure customers transportation requirements are taken care of.
  • Determining the best way to ship, including determining trailer type, size and truck space allocation.
  • Efficiently manage high volume emails and phone calls everyday
  • Must be able to multitask efficiently and effectively
  • Must be able to navigate several different tasks at one time with accuracy.
  • Must be organized and able to problem solve calmly & effectively for both customers and carriers during high stress situations.
  • Knowledgeable with different trailer types, trailer specifics and trailer weight capacities.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Maintain a positive attitude
 
Requirements
Must have at least 1 year of experience working in a Third-Party Logistics (3PL) / Freight Brokerage Company (NON-ASSET BASED COMPNAY).
Must have a good understanding of Truck Brokering Software such as DAT, Internet Truckstop and DAT Rate View for Quoting.
Must be able to build and determine truck space on various types of vehicles based on dimensions and weights.
High school diploma or equivalent with 3 years full-time work experience; college degree preferred.
Ability to deal with a sporadic high stress environment.
Excellent multitasking and prioritization skills.
Strong work ethic, solid negotiation skills, high degree of motivation and conflict-management skills.
Above average email management, computer and typing skills.
Prior customer service skills.
Fast typing and computer skills.
