Your Part in It:
Working out of our Chicago office, we are looking for an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join our team. This is a key position responsible for managing the customs release and entry process for import transactions arriving through all modes of transportation, while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely clearance. The role entails the reviewing and processing of customers commercial documentation and supporting clients towards accurate and compliant declarations. The rater's role must also ensure client satisfaction through consistent customer service. The Customs Rater is expected to perform this role to meet client expectations, while respecting company policies. 

 
SENIOR ENTRY WRITER

 What the Job Entails:

  • Reviews invoices, manifests, and supporting documentation for Customs and company compliance.
  • Processes Customs entries from start to finish, including data entry, classification, valuation, and release.
  • Handles complex Customs entries, identifies documentation issues, and works directly with customers to resolve them.
  • Prepares and submits release documentation to Customs and other government agencies as required.
  • Provides Customs guidance and support to customers, internal teams, and less experienced team members.
  • Ensures entries are processed accurately, efficiently, and within company compliance standards.

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years of Customs brokerage or Customs entry processing experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of HS/HTS classification and Customs clearance procedures across all modes.
  • CargoWise experience is a strong asset.
  • CCS designation preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
