Job description

Company: Burly Botanicals, LLC

Location: Norman, OK (On-site facility)

Project Type: Contract / Seasonal / On-Call

Scope of Work

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. As a contract trimmer, you will be responsible for processing harvested material during specific production windows. You provide the speed and precision; we provide the space and premium material.

  • Precision Hand-Trimming: Efficiently manicuring dry flower to meet Burly Botanicals’ precise aesthetic guidelines (manicured look, zero crow's feet, preserved trichome integrity).
  • Material Separation: Accurately separating premium A-grade buds, B-grade/popcorn buds, and sugar leaf trim into designated bins.
  • Waste Management: Ensuring stems and fan leaves are completely stripped of usable material to maintain high yield metrics.
  • Compliance Protocol: Cooperating with facility managers for accurate pre- and post-work weigh-ins to ensure strict state tracking adherence.
Strict Compliance & Legal Requirements

To be eligible for this contract, all independent operators must meet the following Oklahoma state mandates:

  • OMMA Employee Credential: Must possess an active, valid OMMA Employee Credential Badge and be prepared to display it at all times while on the premises.
  • Age Limit: Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Identification: Must provide a valid government-issued photo ID.
  • Background Screening: Must have a clean background check on file in accordance with OMMA licensing standards.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven Track Record: At least 1+ years of commercial cannabis hand-trimming experience is highly preferred.
  • Speed & Quality: Ability to maintain a fast pace (e.g., target of 1 to 1.5+ lbs of cleanly manicured dry flower per day) without sacrificing the look of the bud.
  • Equipment: Must bring your own clean, sterile, and well-maintained trimming shears (Chikamasa, Fiskars, etc.). We provide the trimming trays and rubbing alcohol.
  • Focus: Ability to stay highly focused and productive during long production stretches.
Terms of Engagement
  • Schedule: On-call/per-project basis. Harvest schedules fluctuate; we will notify roster contractors 3 to 7 days in advance of a trimming window.
  • Payment Terms: Paid per fully completed and approved pound (or contract hour). Payouts are processed upon project completion and verified weigh-in by the compliance manager.
  • Tax Status: Form 1099 will be issued. Contractors are entirely responsible for their own state and federal income taxes. A W-9 will be required.

Burly Botanicals conducts all operations in strict compliance with the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA). All contract work is subject to state-mandated tracking and verification.
