Job description

Position Overview

Arcadis seeks a Principal Industrial Water/Wastewater Consultant to join the Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team. This heavily client‑facing technical position will be key to our growth in the Oil & Gas sector in the Gulf Coast, as well as the broader United States. The role combines 50 % business development and 50 % technical design.

Responsibilities
  • Support Arcadis’ industrial water growth in the Gulf Coast and broader United States.
  • Lead business development activities to increase project wins and develop long‑lasting client relationships.
  • Reach out to your client network on a regular basis to stay connected and assess opportunities, including strategic positioning.
  • Lead pursuits and develop proposals, hold client meetings, and participate in client interviews.
  • Serve as a subject‑matter expert in oil and gas wastewater treatment and support the Industrial Water process team.
  • Lead projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of industrial water/wastewater treatment plants and wastewater recycle plants.
  • Co‑ordinate multi‑disciplined engineering teams, lead or serve as subject‑matter expert for complex engineering designs for industrial water projects, and collaborate with other design disciplines.
  • Prepare design basis documents, engineering calculations (mass and energy balances), review engineering drawings (P&IDs and layout), specifications for treatment equipment, instrumentation and controls engineering reports, and feasibility studies.
  • Manage technical coordination and provide leadership on large or complex projects or high‑risk projects; lead knowledge transfer and staff development within your area of expertise.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 20 + years of industrial water/wastewater treatment experience.
  • Experience in engineering, project management, sustainability, sales, marketing, and technology roles.
  • Knowledge of and experience with industrial clients in North America.
  • Strong experience leading large industrial wastewater capital projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Experience with multinational industrial clients.
  • Previous regional or national role and collaboration across regional teams.
