Job description

Salary:

VERSYS (Verified Systems) is a privately-ownedthriving company that provides low and medium voltage services for industrial commissioning, start up, maintenance, construction, and panel fabrication in Canada and the US. We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Scheduler to join our Oil and Gas project team. In this role, you will be the "architect of flow," leveraging Takt planning and scheduling methodologies to synchronize material delivery, labor allocation, and equipment usage. You will drive efficiency across complex infrastructure projects, turnarounds, or modular facility builds, ensuring continuous workflow and zero-waste operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Takt Planning & Implementation:Lead the development and implementation of Takt time and Takt flow methodologies across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases.
  • Master Schedule Development:Build, maintain, and optimize integrated project master schedules using advanced scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or Takt specific tools like LeanStation).
  • Flow Optimization:Break down large scopes of work into manageable Takt zones and sequences to eliminate workflow bottlenecks and reduce non-value-added activities.
  • Resource Leveling:Align workforce, equipment, and material deliveries with defined Takt times to ensure a steady, predictable pace of production.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with engineering leads, procurement teams, construction superintendents, and subcontractors to ensure Takt targets are understood and achieved.
  • Progress Tracking & Reporting:Monitor schedule health, track physical progress against Takt targets, and calculate Earned Value (EV). Identify deviations and implement corrective mitigation strategies.
  • Look-Ahead Planning:Develop detailed 2-week and 4-week look-ahead schedules in alignment with the master Takt plan to ensure the readiness of prerequisites.

  • Change Management:Evaluate the impact of scope changes and requests for information (RFIs) on the Takt plan, adjusting sequences seamlessly while minimizing project delays.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education:Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:Minimum of [5-10] years of experience in project scheduling within the Oil and Gas, petrochemical, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Takt Expertise:Proven hands-on experience applying Takt time planning and Lean construction principles to complex industrial projects or turnarounds.
  • Software Proficiency:Advanced user of scheduling software (Primavera P6 is required). Experience with Takt planning software (e.g., LeanKit, LeanStation, or similar) is highly preferred.
  • Industry Knowledge:Deep understanding of oil and gas construction sequences, modular fabrication, piping/structural installations, and mechanical completions.
  • Analytical Skills:Strong analytical capabilities and a continuous-improvement mindset focused on waste reduction and workflow optimization.
  • Communication:Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills; capable of aligning field crews, management, and subcontractors to a unified rhythm.
  • Certifications:PMP (Project Management Professional), PMI-SP (Scheduling Professional), or Lean/Six Sigma certifications are a strong plus.
