Description:
Cooper Tacia General Contracting is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Field Safety Coordinator to support our growing project portfolio across our South-East division. Reporting directly to our Corporate Safety Director, this individual will champion our safety culture by performing regular audits, facilitating training, and driving continuous improvement in all safety-related operations across our field sites. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator who can build trust while ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular site safety audits and document findings using Safety Reports software.
  • Provide coaching and on-site training to ensure teams are practicing safe work procedures in line with OSHA and Cooper Tacia policies.
  • Monitor the execution of high-risk activities, working alongside contractors to implement the best safety practices.
  • Represent Cooper Tacia's safety interests on-site, advocating for the highest standard of health and safety.
  • Investigate safety incidents as needed and assist in the development of corrective action plans.
  • Travel to job sites, including overnight or extended stays, based on project needs.
  • Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to Cooper Tacia's Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) procedures.

Requirements:
  • OSHA 510/500 preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to stay near assigned job sites approximately 35% of the time.
  • Potential for full-time placement on a project, based on project needs.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience identifying safety hazards and implementing hazard controls on construction sites.
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to engage all levels of personnel in safety programs.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction site safety standards.
  • Experience creating and evaluating Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and Pre-Task Plans (PTPs), with a clear understanding of their differences and applications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
