Job description

PayBright is seeking a Fall 2026 intern to join our Human Resources team. This internship provides hands-on experience in a growing HR department while also supporting the day-to-day operation of our Raleigh office.

Approximately 70% of the role focuses on Human Resources, including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee documentation, and employee experience initiatives. The remaining 30% supports office management, helping maintain a professional, organized, and welcoming workplace for employees and visitors.

As an HR & Employee Experience intern, you'll work directly with the HR team on meaningful projects that support employees throughout the employment lifecycle while gaining practical experience in office administration and workplace operations. You'll take ownership of projects, improve processes, and contribute to building an exceptional employee experience in a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources (Approximately 70%)

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Coordinate candidate communications and interview scheduling.
  • Review resumes and assist with candidate screening.
  • Update job descriptions and recruiting materials.
  • Assist with offer letters and hiring documentation.
  • Coordinate with hiring managers throughout the recruiting process.

Onboarding & HR Administration

  • Prepare onboarding materials and new hire documentation.
  • Coordinate onboarding tasks, equipment requests, and system access.
  • Maintain employee records, headcount information, and HR documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Support routine employee requests and HR administrative tasks.

HR Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain required workplace postings and compliance documentation.
  • Organize digital HR files and employment records.
  • Support compliance training and documentation tracking.
  • Update HR resources, forms, and internal documentation.
  • Assist with HR research and special projects.

Employee Experience

  • Plan and coordinate employee recognition activities and workplace celebrations.
  • Support employee engagement events and culture initiatives.
  • Assist with employee appreciation programs and milestone celebrations.
  • Help organize volunteer and community involvement activities.
Office Management (Approximately 30%)
  • Help maintain office supplies, pantry inventory, and shared workspaces.
  • Prepare workstations and welcome materials for new employees.
  • Coordinate facilities, technology, and vendor requests.
  • Assist with deliveries, office organization, and workplace improvement projects.
  • Support conference room readiness, meeting setup, and general office administration.
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming office environment for employees and visitors.

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Prior experience in an office or administrative environment preferred
  • Comfort with cloud-based work tools (e.g., Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace)
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
Schedule & Location
  • Internship is estimated to run August-December 2026
  • Expected schedule of 12-16 hours per week (Monday-Thursday in office, Friday remote)
  • Office is located in the Crabtree Valley area of Raleigh
