Job description

Rohadfox Construction Control is seeking a Cost Engineer for our client located at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. The Cost Engineer is responsible for coordination of estimates to assure quality control and timely completion of indirect and direct cost estimates of all bid and negotiated projects. Oversees the use and maintenance of change management logs. Hourly rate range starts at $38/hr+ DOE. This is an on-site full-time position with benefits.

Requirements

·       University degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field, or equivalent experience

Certification / Training

·       Cost control certifications, such as CCP, are a plus.

Experience

·       Minimum of ten (10) years of related Project Controls / Cost Controls experience

·       Develops, implements, and maintains change management control logs for use by Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, Project Engineers, and Office Engineers.

·       Assist Area Construction Managers, Resident Engineers, Schedulers and Estimators in the evaluating contractor change notice documentation.

·       Assist Area Construction Managers, Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, as requested, in the negotiation of contract changes.

·       Coordinate with and assist Senior Scheduler in the development of the Master Schedules.

·       Participate in constructability reviews as directed.

·       Participate in the preparation of cost estimates as requested to support the evaluation of construction changes.

·       Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

·       Works under direction of the Cost Control Manager to support the planning, coordination, and evaluation of the project financial and status reports, and presentations.

·       Communicates promptly and effectively to requests for response, research and information, gathers answer through communications with department staff.

·       Responsible and accountable for tracking the approved contract budgets and for issuing appropriate progress reports as required.

·       Reviews monthly cost reports generated by the contractor and reconciles with current contractual documents.

·       Reviews funding availability and validates funding of change orders, supplemental agreements, and work orders.

·       Assists on a continual basis in the analyses and appraisals of contract costs.
