Overall Responsibilities:

Our Sales Account Manager position is a collaborative and highly impactful role that will be responsible for all commercial deliverables, tasks, and negotiations for assigned accounts. A successful candidate will be an experienced, self-driven and results-oriented engineer with a passion for sales account management to support our various OEM Business. The Sales Account Manager role requires the ability not only to understand Account Management but also, Accounts Receivable and Supply Chain Management tasks. This position's responsibilities include: leading commercial issues and negotiations with the OEM buyer, resolving pricing discrepancies and payment issues, and supporting the resolution of supply chain issues. As the Sales Account Manager you will be required to work in cross functional teams which include customers, global HQ, development engineering, suppliers, quality and manufacturing plants.

Major Tasks Listed Below:

  • Act as the main point of contact between our customers and global HQ
  • Manage programs/projects through the full commercial life cycle (i.e. sourcing to mass production) including the management engineering changes for commercial and timing impact
  • Lead Commercial and Price negotiations which include annual cost reduction negotiations
  • Lead quote generation and submission through business case development and approval processes to ensure understanding of cost breakdowns and profitability analysis
  • Collaborate with HQ team to track & report Monthly revenue, Profitability of projects, Business plan, inform leadership of impact of demand changes
  • Conduct Contract and General Terms & Conditions (GT&C) reviews
  • Set up new customers in our internal system and update and maintain a master price file
  • Oversee and maintain supplier portal management
  • Ensure tooling requirements are met and proper invoicing is generated for on-time approvals and installation
  • Support the Supply Chain Management team to ensure supplier readiness and escalation of supply chain issues. Especially, the resolution of supply chain shortages and other issues that would impact launch timing
  • Manage all prototype, pre-production, mass production, accessory and service requirements
  • Lead the submission process for sales administration approval to ship all non-mass production material

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or other related technical discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience of account management in the automotive industry
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to customer sites and for business meetings is required. A valid drivers' license is required for local travel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior account management experience with an Electric Vehicle (EV) Tier 1 supplier 
  • Proficiency in supplier and customer portals such as GM SupplyPower 
  • Knowledge of commercial issue management such as: pre-production components, contract negotiations, purchasing orders, pricing, tooling, engineering changes and supply chain development
  • Ability to be Self-driven, results oriented with a strong sense of initiative in tackling complex tasks
  • Ability to learn quickly with the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt to company working culture and processes
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to understand customer needs and to probe for answers, and then determine a solution and advocate that solution to the customer
  • Ability to work with customers and internal stakeholders and make sure all deliverables are met
  • Capacity to identify risks and raise issues to relevant stakeholders
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and to maintain deadlines
  • Skill in MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
