Houseperson – Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront 

Position Overview

  • Job Title: Houseperson (HSKP)
  • Location: 3501 Atlantic Ave
  • Schedule: Seasonal, must be available on weekends and holidays
  • Work Environment: Oceanfront hotel right on the boardwalk
     

Summary:
The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring and work areas. Cleaning rooms includes duties such as changing bed linens and emptying trash as well as vacuuming carpets and dusting furniture. This person assists room attendants with supplies and linens.

Job Functions:

  • Strip rooms - remove bed linens, terry, and trash.
  • Cleans hallways, corridors, elevators, stairways, ice rooms, trash areas, and linen closets.
  • Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners.
  • Dusts fixtures, frames, and equipment.
  • Polishes metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washes walls, ceilings, and woodwork.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets
  • Transports trash and waste to the disposal area.
  • Stocks and supplies delivered.
  • Replace light bulbs.
  • Abides by the regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using

chemicals.

  • Reports on working for scheduled shifts, on time and in uniform in accordance with company policy.
  • Knows and complies with all company policies and procedures pertaining to this

position and its duties.

  • Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
