Job description

  • Be available to work a overnight-flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, as required to meet the needs of the Company's business operations.
  • Maintains complete awareness of hotel facilities and services. 
  • Handles deliveries received during non-business hours, following hotel procedures.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras as assigned.
  • Investigate duress alarms and comply with respective procedures.
  • Patrol the property with specified equipment, checking all designated points and document all actions.
  • Ensure all guest room doors are secured; assist guests with room access according to privacy policies.
  • Respond to the scene of guest/employee accident promptly; comply with departmental procedures.
  • Comply with state regulations and with Shaner and Franchise guidelines for handling intoxicated guests.
  • Report to scenes of vehicles accidents/thefts and document specified information.
  • Comply with guest requests for storing and safekeeping of their valuables and follow procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all Security and hotel reports/documents.
  • Provide interdepartmental assistance upon request to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Provide security service for banquet functions/meeting rooms as assigned.
Responsibilities
Monitors and patrols assigned areas to provide a safe environment for guests and employees and to minimize opportunities for loss or damage. Acts to deter any agent or element from jeopardizing persons or property in or about the hotel's facilities.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate or equivalent; college degree or vocational training a plus.
  • Minimum 1-year prior experience in a similar position of dealing with the general public. 
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Ability to endure abundant physical movements in carrying out job duties.
  • Ability to ensure security all persons and property.
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous with demanding/difficult employees and/or situations.
  • Ability to perform job functions to standards under pressure of tense/confrontational situations.
  • Ability to ensure security and confidentiality of guest and employee information.
  • Ability to enforce hotel's standards, policies and procedures with hotel staff.
