Position Overview
The Ocean Export Agent supports daily export operations by coordinating international shipments, preparing documentation, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This role manages routine to moderately complex transactions while maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and clear communication with customers, carriers, and internal teams.

This position is responsible for delivering a high-quality, consistent experience to both internal and external customers. The Ocean Export Agent I also supports sales efforts, assists with quotations, and collaborates with team members to ensure shipments move efficiently and compliantly.

The schedule for this role may include weekends on a rotational basis and may require holiday coverage depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support export shipments, including booking, data entry, and basic documentation

  • Track shipments and provide status updates to customers and internal teams

  • Coordinate pickups and deliveries with trucking companies and service providers

  • Maintain accurate shipment records and update the Transportation Management System (TMS)

  • Assist with billing, cost entry, and file management

  • Help prepare export documents such as bills of lading and air waybills

  • Monitor shipments and escalate issues to senior team members as needed

  • Provide professional customer service and respond to inquiries

  • Follow standard procedures and support overall team operations

  • Office-based position with regular computer and telephone use

  • Involves strong attention to detail and highly organized

  • Involves sitting or standing for extended periods; occasional walking, bending, and reaching

  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 20 pounds
