Job description

In the Assistant Director (AIMS Clinical Review) role, you will assist the Assistant Vice-President in managing New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) AIDS Institute clinical review activities. This role is responsible for assisting with review planning, oversight, quality assurance, staffing, and strict contract compliance. Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Assist in the development of new reviews based on the NYSDOH AIDS Institute clinical project timeline.
  • Assist with clinical and analytical team review training, including research and development of training materials.
  • Supervise and coordinate review staff, including monitoring quality measures and key performance metrics.
  • Provide quality assurance support as data is abstracted from medical records and clinical documentation.
  • Conduct clinical research and monitor trends to support review activities.
  • Support implementation of expanded review processes, including medical record portal use, cloud-based solutions, REDCap, Salesforce, and related systems.
  • Directly supervise FSHCA clinical staff at the review level and assist leadership in ensuring timely completion of contract deliverables.
  • Provide updates and backup support to Department Directors, the Assistant Vice President, and the Vice President.
  • Attend NYSDOH AIDS Institute and departmental meetings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced clinical and writing skills, with the ability to present research, findings, and recommendations clearly to leadership, both verbally and in writing.
  • Capable of communicating effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and manage clinical staff.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deliverables.
  • Proficiency with PC-based software, including Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, as needed.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • NYS Licensed, Registered Nurse is required.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or related discipline is required. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • Three (3) years demonstrated supervisory/managerial experience or recent clinical experience is required.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. The annualized salary range for this position is $105,000.00 – $115,000.00. Actual salary range and /or hourly rate depends on a variety of factors including experience, education, credentials, location, and budget.
