Digital Transformation and Innovation (DT&I) is responsible for data-driven, clinically led patient care through digital transformation. The EHR Optimization (EHRO) team manages and optimizes the use and standard content of the enterprise EHR and informatics platforms across multiple vendors and versions (Meditech Expanse, Epic, Cerner, etc.).  The EHRO team is responsible for the compliant, optimized and efficient use of informatics solutions across all acute care and post-acute care facilities. 

The Clinical Informaticist leverages an agile and refined process to prioritize solution needs, determine the problem to be solved while partnering with multi-disciplinary teams to use knowledge of current clinical workflows to identify solutions to address end user needs and meet stakeholder requirements. The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for driving the evaluation and implementation of changes that address standardization and optimization of the end user experience within the EHR technologies with a focus on clinical documentation and chart review across all specialties and clinical settings.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Work as a member of a team to support the enterprise standardization and optimization of multi-disciplinary clinical documentation ensuring that clinical and workflow needs are met and all regulatory and enterprise corporate initiatives are appropriately considered in the design for all applicable EHR platforms (Meditech Expanse, Magic, Cerner, EPIC).
  • Support the preparation of informatics materials to collaborate with corporate service line leaders, enterprise advisory boards, division and facility leaders, and end user representatives to define informatics solutions that address the need of clinicians.
  • Facilitate the evaluation and recommend prioritization of requests for changes to standard clinical documentation across all disciplines and EHR functions related to chart review, documentation layout within the EHR.
  • Collaborate with IT&S, delivering requirements to support ongoing optimization of enterprise standard content and workflows.
  • Obtain end user feedback and identify opportunities for continued improvement in standard content and workflow for applied use of the EHR platforms.
  • Leverage broad understanding of EHR workflow functions to guide informatics solution requirements and design to achieve project objectives.

Other:

  • Work on other activities, as necessary, to support DT&I, CSG and Clinical Informatics strategy.
  • Represent EHRO in multi-disciplinary meetings
  • Attend key operational meetings and document attendees, discussion topics, and outcomes
  • This is an on-site position located in Nashville, TN.

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor’s degree required
