Job Summary:
The Lead RN Clinical Data Abstraction Coordinator is responsible for all functions of the Clinical Data Abstraction Coordinator including abstraction, analysis, and submission of clinical data to national registries. This position is responsible for the quality and coordination of data collection, data entry, analysis, report preparation, report submission, presentation of data, data sharing for process improvement initiatives and benchmarking/projections of future performance trends.
Incumbent maintains detailed knowledge of registry field definition and registry reporting requirements. The RN Clinical Data Abstraction Coordinator is responsible for the technical and methodological support of the assigned registry/registries. He/she takes the initiative to identify knowledge gaps and actively works to build knowledge in others on the multidisciplinary team in relation to the national registries supported. This position is responsible for communicating report findings to others throughout the organization, interacting with various members of the multidisciplinary teams.
The Lead RN Clinical Data Abstraction coordinator provides support to the H&V Quality data abstraction team in the workload, staffing, education and monitoring needs of the department. The lead clinical data abstraction coordinator will maintain registry abstraction duties, and will work in collaboration with leadership to ensure successful functioning of the clinical data abstraction team in accordance with regulations and ethical practices.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of 1 year of related work experience in Cardiac Cath Lab/EP lab, Cardiovascular medicine/ICU, cardiac surgery or vascular surgery is required. A minimum of 2 years of clinical data abstraction is required.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
As Associate's Degree in Nursing is required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
After hire, will be required to participate in Froedtert Organizational Learning educational sessions related to leadership.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Analytical, critical thinker, accuracy/attention to detail, self-disciplined, thrives in an independent working environment. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office is required (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Advanced experience working in Epic EHR (documenting, chart navigation). Proven ability to mentor other co-workers on job tasks and workflows. Strong proactive organizational skills. Excellent customer service skills.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
