Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN OR Circulator with a CA RN license, at least two years of OR circulating experience, and EPIC proficiency for a variable-shift surgery department role.

Details
  • Works in the Surgery unit of an acute care hospital
  • Circulates during surgical procedures, coordinating equipment, supplies, and staff for the surgical team
  • Variable 4x10 schedule, Monday through Friday with rotating shifts (0630-1700, 0830-1900, or 1030-2100)
  • Requires 1-2 night shifts per week with call responsibilities
  • Requires one weekend of coverage per month
  • Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
  • Active CA RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Minimum two years of OR circulating experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • PALS certification preferred
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • No prior license restrictions or disciplinary actions permitted
Additional Information
  • Assures patient safety throughout all phases of perioperative care
  • Participates in patient care planning, assessment, and nursing treatment
  • Applies aseptic technique and safely operates OR equipment
  • Prepares patients for surgery, including proper anatomical positioning
  • Performs pre, intra, and post-procedure patient care assessments per department protocols
  • Safely handles and disposes of biohazardous materials from surgical procedures
  • Documents tissue and allograft handling, including temperature and package integrity checks, per manufacturer guidelines
  • Uses downtime for job-related tasks such as chart auditing and unit upkeep
  • Position is represented by CNA
  • Accepts local candidates at the same rate as traveling candidates with no radius restriction
