Job Summary
Carrier is seeking a NPI PMO Leader to lead Procurement Program Management across Residential and Light Commercial HVAC platforms.
This role is accountable for end-to-end portfolio leadership of NPI programs, driving delivery of business commitments including cost, schedule, margin expansion, and Procurement readiness. The position leads a multi-site PMO organization and operates as a critical member of the NPI and Procurement leadership team, shaping execution strategy and ensuring enterprise alignment.
The PMO Leader sets direction for program governance, establishes operating mechanisms, and ensures disciplined execution across a complex, matrixed environment. This role requires the ability to influence senior leaders, drive cross-functional alignment, and make trade-off decisions impacting business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise NPI Portfolio Leadership
  • Own and lead the Residential & Light Commercial NPI Procurement portfolio, ensuring programs deliver against business case commitments (cost, margin, and launch timing)

  • Establish and drive program execution strategy and priorities aligned to BU and enterprise objectives

  • Provide clear accountability for portfolio health, proactively identifying risks and leading recovery actions

  • Serve as the senior escalation point for program trade-offs, resourcing conflicts, and cross-functional alignment challenges

PMO Governance & Operating Model Ownership
  • Own and continuously improve stage-gate discipline (P0-P4, SOP readiness) and program management best practices

  • Lead structured executive review cadence (weekly, monthly, and milestone reviews), ensuring transparency and accountability

  • Institutionalize data-driven decision-making frameworks tied to program performance (cost, OTD, readiness, risk)

Cross-Functional & Business Integration
  • Influence product definition, design decisions, and sourcing strategies to optimize cost, manufacturability, and Procurement outcomes

  • Drive alignment across different functional stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of NPI priorities and strategies

Procurement Strategy & Execution Influence
  • Ensure NPI programs are aligned to global Procurement strategies, including supplier selection, dual sourcing, capacity planning, and localization

  • Drive execution of should-costing, cost optimization, and productivity initiatives embedded in NPI programs

  • Provide leadership oversight on supplier readiness, qualification, and program risk mitigation

People Leadership & Organizational Capability
  • Lead and develop a team of PMO leaders, program managers, and Procurement program resources

  • Coach leaders and develop succession pipelines aligned to Carrier leadership expectations

Executive Influence & Decision Support
  • Drive alignment on key business trade-offs (cost vs. timing vs. scope)

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to BU leadership on NPI performance and capability development

Scope & Impact
  • Direct ownership of program execution outcomes tied to cost, dual qualification, dual sourcing, and productivity targets

  • Multi-site scope with influence across engineering, sourcing, operations, and supplier networks

  • Significant impact on business growth, cost competitiveness, and Procurement performance

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree

  • 8+ years' experience in Project or Program Management in a leadership capacity in Procurement, Manufacturing, or Engineering environments

  • 3+ years' experience of leading large, cross-functional teams and complex program portfolios

Preferred Qualifications
  • HVAC or industrial manufacturing experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field

Deep expertise in:
  • Stage-gate NPI processes

  • Procurement strategy (sourcing, supplier development, cost modeling)

  • Experience leading global organizations in a matrixed environment

  • Professional Spanish fluency

  • PMP or equivalent certification

  • Proven ability to influence executive leadership, align diverse stakeholders, and steer enterprise-level decisions

Pay Range
The annual salary for this position is between $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
Other Compensation
This position is entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
