Hours: This is a part-time position (15-20 hours per week/ 4-5 hrs/day / M-Th)
Pay: $24.50 per hour
Campus: Evanston
Approximate start date: 6/8/2026
Approximate end date: 12/18/2026

Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Part-time Administrative Assistant 1 for the Evanston campus.
Temporary Job Description:

  • Provides day-to-day administrative, clerical, and financial support using applicable skills, methods, and practices with some innovation and reasoning to troubleshoot as needed.
  • Expense reimbursements
  • Processing Payments
  • Purchase Orders (office supplies)
  • Financial Data Entry
  • Clerical support
  • Station the front desk & answer main phone line
  • Greet visitors and ensure building access is granted

Minimum Qualifications Required:

High school diploma

1-2 years experience in clerical support

1-2 years experience in financial support

Great attention to detail

Patience to file paperwork

Good communication skills

Knowledge of Office Suite/computers/software

Ability to work independently

Preferred qualifications:

Associate Degree

Familiarity with Northwestern systems such as NU Financials.

Experience with other expense report systems

In addition to salary, this temporary position is eligible for paid time off and paid sick time in accordance with Northwestern University policies. This position is not eligible for other benefits offered to regular staff positions.
