This role often requires you to stand for long periods and be prepared to respond quickly to emergencies or unexpected situations. Collaboration with construction workers and equipment operators is essential to ensure the safety of both the crew and the public. A keen attention to safety protocols and clear communication are vital for successfully carrying out your daily tasks.

Flaggers often use hand-held stop/slow paddles, two-way radios, and are usually required to obtain specific safety certifications, such as a flagger certification through an approved training program.
