Substitute whose education and/or experience substantially exceeds the
minimum qualifications for the classification may be placed at a higher step in
range (up to Step E), upon approval of the hiring department.

Paid Sick Leave for SubstitutesHealthy Workplaces/Healthy Families Act of 2014
California law provides for paid sick leave for employees who work for the same employer for 30 or more days within a year from the beginning of employment are entitled to paid sick leave. Accrual begins on the first day of employment.
