Director of Operations

Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House Charities

Johnson City, Tennessee

Southern Appalachian Ronald McDonald House Charities is seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven leader to serve as our next Director of Operations. This key leadership role oversees the daily operations of the House while helping provide comfort, support, and care to families with critically ill or hospitalized children.

The Director of Operations works closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure the House operates efficiently, safely, and compassionately while maintaining a welcoming environment for guest families, volunteers, staff, and community partners.

About the Role

The Director of Operations is responsible for:

  • Overseeing day-to-day House operations and guest services
  • Supervising operations staff and supporting a positive team culture
  • Managing volunteer coordination and engagement
  • Overseeing facility maintenance, safety, housekeeping, and vendor relationships
  • Supporting family-centered programming and operational systems
  • Assisting with budgets, reporting, and operational planning
  • Helping ensure an exceptional experience for guest families during difficult times
