Job description

With a working supervisor role and will primarily be responsible for directing the daily work activities of all Non-Ferrous yard personnel. You will provide hands on leadership and direction in yard organization, inventory handling and control, the promotion of a safe working environment, obtainment of operational goal. The Supervisor communicates production and quality goals, ensures all team members are properly trained, and operates a variety of equipment.
Hours: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm & Saturdays 7am-12pm
Responsibilities of a Non Ferrous Supervisor:
  • Lead a team of employees assigned to identify, sort, and process nonferrous scrap material.
  • 1+ years previous experience identifying and grading nonferrous materials required to be considered for this role.
  • Communicate daily production goals, and other operational information.
  • Inspect working area and identify needed tools or equipment and address any safety or maintenance concerns with the proper individuals.
  • Assist the General Manager (GM) with team scheduling to cover production goals and absences.
  • Assign and train employees on all equipment used in the work area (i.e., forklifts, skid steers, balers, wire machines, etc.)
  • Monitor production and take proactive actions to ensure daily and weekly production goals are met or exceeded.
  • Complete all required paperwork (production reports, training documentation, maintenance requests, etc.) and review for accuracy before submitting.
  • Assist with team member concerns: reporting and follow up.
  • This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week, and on Saturday's as needed/required.

Qualifications of a Team Lead Supervisor:
  • High School diploma, GED Certification, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years Non Ferrous supervisor experience
  • 1 + years previous experience identifying and grading nonferrous materials to be considered for this role.
  • 1 + years previous experience identifying and grading nonferrous materials.
  • Ability to use a computer tablet.
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus.
  • Ability to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
  • Ability to learn new tasks as assigned required.
