Job description

Overview

NV5 is a provider of professional and technical engineering and consulting solutions to public and private sector clients in the infrastructure, energy, construction, program management and environmental markets. NV5 is an ENR Top 500 firm; we offer a full range of professional services in offices throughout the U.S.

We are looking for a CAD Technician to support the Survey group in our Jacksonville, Florida office. 

Responsibilities
  • Communicate proactively and appropriately with team members, permitting agencies, clients, sub-consultants, and others as needed
  • Act as a team player, fulfilling your own responsibilities and supporting others as needed to help the team meet deadlines and complete tasks
  • Understand legal descriptions terminology
  • Review field notes and raw data files for mistakes
  • Reduce field notes and perform necessary office calculations
  • Ensure that field procedures meet Florida Standards of Practice
  • Prepare maps using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other associated survey module
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Current or prior experience with Auto Cad and Civil 3D 
  • Current or prior experience with technical drafting in the land surveying fields
  • Knowledge of the standards of practice applied to data manipulation and mapping production
  • Knowledge of the following types of surveys:
    • As-Built
    • ALTA/NSPS
    • Boundary
    • Construction layout
    • Control
    • Right-of-Way
    • Specific Purpose
    • Topographic
