Job description

CLX Engineering needs a very proficient, quick, accurate CAD Drafter. Experience reading electrical prints and schematics is a big plus but not necessary. Successful candidates will:
  • Create accurate 2D CAD models in AutoCAD of various electrical schematics and panel enclosure drawings
  • Produce clear, concise drawings for fabrication of electrical panels based on standards within the industry, design intent in a manner that eliminates the opportunity of error during the production or installation in the field.
  • Collaborate with both colleagues in the Panel Shop and Integration Engineers to design elements that best meet design intent in a manner that maximizes the efficiency of production.
  • Responsible for preparing technical drawings and during the process they may analyze information, such as measurements and sketches, provided by the engineers and/or Manufacturing. They will correspond with relevant colleagues to clarify design details and receive feedback for improvements.
  • Occasional site visits and travel may be required for site conditions assessment and dimension field verification.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management (i.e., documentation, drawings reviews)

This is a non-exempt position reporting to the Manager, Manufacturing & Facilities.
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Working experience creating CAD models in AutoCAD 2013 or higher, AutoCAD Electrical, formal education in CAD drafting/design is a plus.
  • Proficient with basic commands of at least one type of CAD system (ability to occasionally use higher-level commands, timesaving programs and routines)
  • Excellent Microsoft Office and/or Office 365 proficiency
  • A basic knowledge of standard electrical panel construction materials and methods.
  • Ability to work on complex projects with general direction and minimal guidance.
  • Ability to pass background check initial and random drug screenings
  • Present a professional demeanor with very good verbal phone skills and clear writing and email skills
  • Tenacity to get work completed and on time
  • Attention to detail and ability to consistently turn in accurate, quality work
