Job description

Responsibilities & Qualifications The Enterprise Monitoring and Operations Support Lead is responsible for overseeing and optimizing 24/7/365 monitoring operations within a Network Operations Center (NOC) or enterprise IT environment. This role ensures continuous visibility into enterprise systems, rapid incident response, and adherence to operational best practices across data center and monitoring infrastructures. The ideal candidate will lead operational staff, standardize processes, and drive improvements in monitoring capabilities, incident management, and system reliability. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience * 5+ years of relevant experience in enterprise monitoring, NOC operations, or IT operations management * Familiarity with DevOps/Agile methodologies and ITIL-based service management processes. * Strong troubleshooting skills and experience providing Tier 3 technical support in enterprise environments. * Engineers that research, designs, develop, run tests, and evaluate computer hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, keyboards, modems, printers, and other related equipment. These individuals collaborate with software engineers and scientists to support the components used in the design of the products. * In addition, individual can work on their own with little guidance. They can work with individuals to resolve issues and can perform initial debugging to identify issues with the design/proposed design. Education * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Clearance * Must be eligible for a Public Trust (NRC IT-1). Key Responsibilities * Operations & Monitoring Leadership * Manage and oversee 24/7/365 operations staff, ensuring adequate staffing, scheduling, and shift coverage.
* Lead daily monitoring operations to ensure continuous visibility into enterprise systems, infrastructure, and services.
* Provide leadership, guidance, and performance oversight to operations personnel.Process Development & Standardization * Develop, implement, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and runbooks to standardize and streamline NOC operations.
* Continuously evaluate and improve operational workflows to increase efficiency and consistency.
* Ensure alignment with industry best practices and organizational policies.Enterprise Monitoring Tools Management * Implement, configure, and maintain enterprise monitoring tools to ensure full coverage of infrastructure and services.
* Ensure monitoring accuracy, relevance, and effectiveness of alerts, alarms, and dashboards.
* Optimize monitoring systems to reduce false positives and improve incident detection.Incident Management * Lead the detection, declaration, escalation, and resolution of major incidents impacting enterprise services.
* Coordinate cross-functional teams during incident response to minimize downtime and service disruption.
* Conduct post-incident reviews and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Data Center & Infrastructure Best Practices * Recommend and enforce best practices related to data center operations, including: * Power and environmental controls
* Cabling standards and organization
* Equipment layout and optimization
* Ensure compliance with operational and infrastructure standards.Audit & Compliance Support * Support and respond to Federal and internal audits, including: * Property accountability
* Data center optimization initiatives
* Information assurance (IA) requirements
* Physical security controls
* Maintain documentation and evidence to support audit readiness.Documentation & Reporting * Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including: * Rack elevation diagrams
* Network diagrams
* Wiring diagrams
* Monitoring impact maps
* Create training materials and operational reports for both technical staff and leadership.
* Provide metrics and reporting on system performance, incidents, and operational effectiveness.Project Management * Plan, coordinate, and execute operational and technical projects.
* Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget constraints.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and deliver results.
